                                      The bigger then Ben Hur weekend is over.
   
          Firstly I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped out this very long
      weekend. Special mention to Wendy Dall'Asen & Deanna Jones who did a fantastic
                        job with gifts, raffles and t-shirts.

         
         We also had a sea of referees who did a brilliant job in what was a big weekend.
     Thanks to Caitlin, Mitch, Adam, Boston, Matthew T, Sean, James, Jack & Jeremy & all
                                         the foil & epee referees.

The First Friendship Cup - 2011

       I have dug these up from my archives, photos of the very first Friendship Cup in 2011.

  The Friendship Cup and training camp in 2011 were only in Foil and UNSW Fencing Club assisted
with hosting the Team event and training Camp. The Japanese Fencing Federation sent 2 survivors of the worst effected areas of Japan from the earthquake and tsunami, which is where the tradition started.
That was also the first year that U/11 and U/13 Championships introduced Sabre and Epee with Foil
                 the Championships.

Since then this have grown to be the Ben Hur event in all weapons, over U/9, U/11 & U/13.
In less then 7 days we will have 50 team and over 200 individual fencers competing in the
                  2014 Koala Mini Challenge and 2014 Friendship Cup
